Emily Holmes
Director in Mississippi
Emily Holmes, M.Ed., currently serves as the director of the Office of Leadership and Student Involvement at The University of Southern Mississippi. With over a decade of student affairs experience, Emily has experience in first year programs, students in transition, and orientation in addition to her current role in leadership programming and student involvement. Here she oversees student involvement on campus which includes event registration, training, development and management as well as leadership training and development for 200 student organizations and 1,500+ events each year. Additionally, the office oversees the campus programming board and the Student Government Association.
She recently finished a two-year term as the state director for Mississippi in NASPA- Region III. Other past positions include ACPA Mid-Level Community of Practice Directorate Governing Board, Commission for Student Involvement Advisor Resource Working Group, Commission for Student Involvement (CSI) Vice-Chair for Programs (2014-2015) and CSI Newsletter Editor (2013-2014). In her community, she served a three-year term as a board member for DREAM, a local non-profit dedicated to educating youth and their parents on the effects of drug and alcohol abuse.
