Emily Tang

Emily Tang is an M.A. candidate at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), where she is pursuing a degree in China Studies and international economics, with a specialization in emerging markets. She is a recipient of The Starr Excellence in China Studies Scholarship.

Prior to SAIS, she directed social media strategy for the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, re-launching its Twitter account and launching its Sina Weibo and Facebook pages. She also re-designed and managed the Committee's internship program. Prior to the Committee, Emily worked in account management at advertising agency GREY New York, helping pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare clients in various markets, including the Asia-Pacific and Latin America.

Emily graduated from Hamilton College Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude with honors in English Creative Writing and Chinese language. In her spare time, Emily volunteers for her alma mater and was recently co-chair of its young alumni group in New York City.
