I am an Educator living in Oro-Medonte, ON, Canada. I am a fan of Multi-age Education, Outdoor Education, and Community-Driven Learning. I’m also interested in Student Voice.

I began my teacher education at Nipissing University where I took a Concurrent Education programme with Honours Geography, obtaining my B.A and B.Ed with J/I History and Geography. During this time I had the opportunity to complete a teaching placement in the Amazon Rainforest at a school that was only accessible by boat. The experience gave me a new perspective on education and I decided to move to Vancouver, BC to obtain an M.Ed from the University of British Columbia (UBC) where I specialized in Society, Culture and Politics in Education.

While at UBC I began to focus on Alternative Education (democratic free schools, Montessori, Waldorf etc.) and student-voice.

Since leaving UBC I have taught K-8 in two multi-age schools. In my teaching I focus on skill-development through student-led learning and engagement with the local community.

In my spare time I enjoy hiking, geocaching, photography and have recently taken up wood-working!
