Emily Sprague

I am currently a student enrolled in the Business Management and Entrepreneurship program at Algonquin College in Ottawa. I previously attended Algonquin and completed the two year Interior Decorating program, however animals are my true passion and calling. My dream is to open a family owned and operated dog boarding, training, and grooming business.

Currently I work at Euro Tile & Stone. Initially I worked as a sales associate in the showroom. I worked with customers who were in various stages of the renovation process as well as customers starting new builds. Although I enjoyed making selections and interacting with customers, my desire to build things started to take over. I began making the small sample boards we lend to customers and maintaining the sample room. Gradually I was on the floor less and less. When it came time to move to our new location, I took on the responsibility of designing and constructing product display boards for the new showroom as well as organizing and maintaining the samples.

As I mentioned, animals are truly where my heart is. After completeing the Business Management and Entrepreneurship program at Algonquin I hope to have aquired the skills needed to successfully merge my love of animals, dogs in particular, with a successful business plan to open and run a dog kennel. It my hope to one day be able to expand my business to include a rescue and provide a forever home for dogs in need.
