Emily Margaret Bryan

Born and raised in Portland Oregon, Emily began working in Musical Theater at a very young age. Emily has performed in various productions with Northwest Children's Theater, including her critically acclaimed appearance as the Cheshire Cat in the world premier of Ezra Weiss's rendition of Alice in Wonderland. Alice proceeded to be named among the Top 10 Cast Albums of 2009 by Talking Broadway alongside Liza Minnelli's Liza's At The Palace and Broadway shows Shrek, Sister Act and Next To Normal. Emily's other performances include appearing in the dance ensemble of Hansel & Gretel, Nurse Nellie in Richard Scarry's Busytown, and Clara in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Emily has trained in Ballet and Modern dance, and has taken various workshops and master classes, including Fosse with Laura Haney, Graham technique with rehearsal director for the Martha Graham Dance Company, Denise Vale, and Luigi Jazz technique with Tracey Durbin. Emily's formal musical training began on cello as a child. In 2009 she appeared playing cello in Gus Van Sants' movie, Restless. In 2011, Emily was awarded a grant to buy a digitech iPB-10 programmable pedalboard and Boss RC-30 loop station to experiment with her Ned Steinberger electric cello and voice. Emily is currently studying jazz compostion and vocal & cello performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA.
