Emily Coribel

I'm 24 years old and I work full time as a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Nurse in the community (9am-5pm Monday to Friday). I've had an interest in art ever since I can remember, particularly in painting and portraiture. I studied Fine Art at A level before I embarked on Mental Health Nursing at university in London. My interest in art stayed with me and I spend lots of my free time visiting galleries and exhibitions as well as painting and drawing, mostly portraits of pets and family members! Working in mental health I have an interest in psychology and human behaviour which I believe links to my love of portraiture. I have worked with many patients who prefer to use art as a means of communication and expressing their emotions and Art Therapy may be something I would be interested in pursuing in the future. Currently I am very excited to about to be studying an area that I have been interested in for a long time. I feel it is very important to have other interests outside of day to day work, and for me I have always found it important to have a creative outlet.
