Emily E. Faulkner
Emily E. Faulkner
Emily E. Faulkner grew up with the theatre in her blood; first appearing onstage at the ripe old age of 18 months. Family legend has it that at three years old she told her parents she was going to Broadway. She studied dance as a child and discovered her natural showmanship, often standing between visitors and the television insisting that they watch her performance.
By her teen years, she realized that theatre was her calling. She was extensively involved in theatre while in high school, “paying her dues” backstage before eventually performing at the International Thespian Festival her senior year. She graduated from high school as a double honor bar Thespian.
From there she attended Ball State University where she expanded her theatre involvement, participating in both university and community productions before graduating with honors from the College of Fine Arts with a degree in Theatre and one in Speech Communication/Theatre Education.
Emily is courageous in taking on a variety of genres, from musicals and one act kid’s comedies to Our Town and Children of a Lesser God. She is comfortable working with a diverse cast, whether in age, aptitude, or ability. She is conversant with numerous phases of the theatre: production design, stagecraft, publicity, marketing, choreography, management, logistics, directing, and acting—from chorus to lead.
Her productions have always run in the black, and have been as wide-ranging as community theatre productions with a box office over $60,000 or high quality high school productions mobilized in as little as 37 days.
For the past 20-plus years, Emily has grown in her involvement with the theatre. Most recently she has invested in her career development, studying in New York City under the tutelage of professional Thespians and discovering an affinity for independent filmmaking.
