Emily advocates for reader-centric news products in her user experience research work at The New York Times. She previously spent her days at Mozilla talking to people about their needs and designing educational tools to empower them.

She's taught UX design at General Assembly and user research at the Stanford design institute ("d.school"). She completed her Master's in Learning, Design & Technology at Stanford while conducting research at the Intel Interaction & Experience Lab. She previously reported for Chicago Public Radio (WBEZ) and studied journalism at Northwestern. She teaches yoga and is a Youth Radio board member. See her portfolio.
