Emily Tithecott
Mechanical Engineering Technician and Designer in Canada
As an aspiring illustrator home grown in the gardens near Lake Superior, my work is infused with organic elements and influences. I feel that I’m able to get an amazing sense of vitality through natural life and continue to embrace its profound beauty. In some of my work, I thrive on subtley while using watercolours, acrylics or pencil, however I find myself most at ease while working with more harsher mediums such as india ink or conte.
Much like learning one’s first instrument, pen and ink was a medium that I grew to love while first getting started, and soon became my weapon of choice. Its unforgiving nature demands a level of focus that I find quite meditative. With it’s required precision and patience, I believe that learning this skill early gave me the opportunity to project energy and successfully visually communicate to my audience. I felt at peace while creating compositions that had such contrast, yet such balance.
I really hope you enjoy my work.
