Welcome! My name is Emily and I am a second year RTA: Sport Media student at Ryerson University in Toronto, ON.

I have an undying love and passion for sports that has come from playing and watching them with family and friends as I grew up. I am hoping that one day this passion and love for the game, as well as hard work and dedication will lead me to a career is the Sport Media Industry, particularly in broadcasting or social media.

Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, I moved to Toronto two years ago to further my academics while playing on the Ryerson Rams Women’s Soccer Team. While my athletic career has ended due to concussions, I am still involved with the team doing social media for their Twitter and Instagram accounts.

As a former high level soccer player, I understand what it takes to work hard and be a leader. Soccer has taught me many valuable lessons that I believe I transfer in to both my work and social life. I have great deal of experience working on a team, which I believe has been essential in how I approach different situations and scenarios in my everyday life.

Additionally, I am a lover of music, dogs and cooking. I am also a huge fan of the Winnipeg Jets and an avid baker with my own cookie baking business “EK Baking.”
