Emily Klotz

Katy, Texas, United States

I grew up in Katy, TX, thinking my whole life I was going to be a famous artist one day. As it turns out, I ended up being pretty good at English too - a skill which took me all the way to Fairbanks, Alaska, where I got my Master's Degree and got to teach quite a few classes along the way. Now I'm back in dear, hot old Texas, missing the beautiful Alaska weather. I have a Bachelor's in Art & English from Houston Baptist University, and an absurdly long master's thesis all about the classic computer game series, "Myst" - part of which I presented at a narratology conference in Tampere, Finland in 2013. I also love cartoons (especially "Avatar: the Last Airbender"), fantasy and sci-fi novels, Shakespeare, old Sierra adventure games, and fairytales. I am currently working on a novel based on Hans Christian Andersen's "The Snow Queen" (which is nothing like "Frozen," I promise. They both have snow. That's about it.)
