Hey there, I’m Emily. I’m a senior at the University of Chicago studying ecology + evolution and expect to graduate with a B.S. degree this June. I spent four summers interning at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC assessing the genetic diversity of an endangered species of seal. My scientific interests include wildlife conservation, urban wildlife, science communication, + population genetics.
I'm the Social Media Editor for the South Side Weekly, a weekly newsmagazine for and about the South Side of Chicago. Along with my co-editor, I've built our Twitter and Facebook accounts from the ground up and am always thinking about ways to drive engagement and hone our web brand.
