Emily Loewen

Winnipeg

I'm a staff writer for Mennonite Central Commitee and a graduate of Ryerson University's Master of Journalism program.

Travelling the world with MCC, I have interviewed people in Bolivian prisons, Zambian corn fields and at 4,500 meters above sea level in Andean village of Totorani.

As a journalist I've covered a wide range of issues from city politics to war resisters and from sexual violence to set production for the national ballet. I've been published in The Toronto Star, the Toronto Standard, Catholic Commons and I once I did an internship with CBC's The Current.

I'm also a freelance editor, looking over books, essays, articles or any words that need a second set of eyes.
