I'm Emily, a communication major at East Carolina University, originally from Dover, Delaware. I'm an aspiring journalist, who hopes to make a difference for women in media in the future.
Even though I've loved to write since I was young, there was never a spark that hit me or a magical moment that occured where I instantly thought to myself, "I'm going to be a writer." I've written the script for an award winning video, for my high school's daily morning show, and for countless video assignments in the past three years. Every word I put on paper was unique and somehow, I've just always known what I wanted to do with my life. Even my second grade teacher wrote in my yearbook, over ten years ago, that she wanted a copy of my first book.
Other than writing, my passions include watching hockey (go Flyers!) and singing Taylor Swift songs at the top of my lungs. My favorite movie of all time is The Little Mermaid, and I'm secretly a nerdy little girl at heart. My life goals include traveling to Europe, working for CNN, writing a screenplay for a movie, swimming with sharks, and of course, becoming a Disney princess.
