Emily Srebotnjak
Hi! My name is Emily Srebotnjak, and I currently live in Mississauga, Ontario. For as long as I can remember, I've always been facinated with everything going on around me. Ever since I was a little girl, I've loved to talk. As a child, I would contstantly bombard my parents with questions as to why things were the way they were, and why people did the things they did.
Alongside with talking, I found a passion for writing at a young age as well. I wrote short stories whenever I was bored, and at age 10, I vividly remember telling my parents that I wanted to become an author when I grew up.
When I entered high school, I realized that not only did I love to write, but I loved to present as well. Broadcast journalism seemed like the best career choice for me because it incorperates both elements!
I love to travel, and by exploring different parts of the world, I get to learn an immense amount of knowledge about different people, cultures, and lifestyles that I've never been accustomed to.
I believe that the best journalists are never satisfied with "good enough"... they always want to learn/find out more about the world around them. There's so much more for me to discover in this amazing world, and I know Ryerson University is the perfect place to start my career as a broadcast journalist. I've developed a strong passion for entertainment news/popular culture throughout the last eight years, so I hope to pursue a career as an MTV, MuchMusic, Entertainment Tonight or ETalk host/reporter.
