Hello! My name is Emily Vinson and I am a current student at The Ohio State University.

My top 5 Strengths in my StrengthsQuest report were Achiever, Organizer, WOO, Responsibility, and Communication. I feel I most relate to the achiever. An achiever is one who is never really content with who they are or what they are doing. They feel they can constantly learn and better themselves. I love accomplishing goals and pushing myself to be the best I can be. Whether it be academics, work, on-campus clubs, or outside organizations, I always try to give my all in every assignment, project, or task I am assigned or take on.

I really liked being able to talk about my favorite Ohio State tradition. I chose something that my Scholars program organizes, where we arrange "megas and minis" within the program. The second and third years involved pick a first year who they want to be their mini, much like a little sibling big sibling program. I thought it was very fun to meet my mega and be able to have a peer mentor during my transition into college, and it is definitely one of my favorite Scholar's activities and tradition here at Ohio State.

In addition to discussing my OSU tradition, I really valued being able to write the lessons from a First-Year Buckeye paper where we had to write about five different things we learned and would give advice about after experiencing out first semester at Ohio State. I thought it was an interesting and insightful way to reflect on my first semester at Ohio State, and also in college, and write about what I learned from myself but had not reflected on yet. I was able to take a lot from just writing about how I felt and advice I would give to others, and see what I can do going forward to change some things and also pay more attention to others.
