EMIRU FUJITA

Student in Athens

こんにちは、藤田です。

My name is Emiru Fujita, and I came from Tokyo, Japan. When I say “I'm from TOKYO”, people react like “WOW, THAT'S COOL!!",but I actually live in a very small town located in Nakano-ku. Nakano is famous for curious culture. It's exactly image of Japan as self which is imagined by foreigners. I grew up in a such surroundings. When I was 10 years old, I won the Misao Award, which is an award for poems. I wrote the poem titled 「せんこう花火」(Sparklers). I used refrain in that poem. However, there wasn't any deep meaning; I just wrote “Summer will be over soon, when summer is over, the season of sparklers and fireworks is over too. When it's over, it's lonesome isn't it.” The poet named Mamoru Kikuta praised me that I could express the feelings of sparklers. After that, I noticed that writing something is so fun. I started writing poems, lyrics and essay. I entered a private middle school after graduating from elementary school. Then, I started learning English and it became my most favorite subject of all. However, this was also the darkest age of my life. I couldn't fit that school spirit at all, so I transfer to a correspondence school. Before transferring, my English teacher said to me “You should do something related to English in the future.” I decided to study abroad in the university. I studied so hard and started doing English conversation practice on online. I did my best for 3 years, and finally I passed the entrance exam of Sophia University. Now, I have a purpose of writing something in English. I aim to express my own feelings and thoughts by learning every day.
