Lake Highland Prep alumnus Emma Whitner is a four-time USA Diving Junior National Championship semi-finalist who has been enrolled at the University of Florida since 2017. In addition to pursuing a bachelor's and master's degree in finance, Emma Whitner is a member of the school's swimming and diving team. This involves up to 25 hours of training, travel, and competition per week, in addition to managing a course load that includes macroeconomics, entrepreneurship, and financial accounting. She was an All-American Scholar in 2018, and has earned three Southeastern Conference (SEC) Academic Honors.
As a freshman, Emma Whitner qualified for NCAA Diving Zones on all three boards (one-meter, three-meter, and platform), and placed 14th in the platform event with a score of 212.05. She improved upon her platform and three-meter score during her sophomore season in 2018-19, and finished eighth and 14th, respectively, in those events during the SEC Championships. In addition, she registered career-best scores in the one- and three-meter dive in her sophomore season.
Supplementing her academic and athletic pursuits, Ms. Whitner is an advising member of the University of Florida's Student Athlete Advisory Committee, where she organizes student-athlete enrichment and philanthropy events. Her interests include personal investing, nutrition, and playing acoustic guitar.
