Hello, My name is Emma Bruns and I am a senior at Troy High School. I live with my younger brother, mother and father. I moved to Troy at the start of 6th grade from Ferndale, Michigan.

My passions consist of dance, photography, camping, church and guitar. I have been dancing for 13 years, including studio dance and dance team. When I was younger I assisted my aunt at photoshoots and as I got older I found I love taking photos on camping trips. I have camped all over Michigan and in Minnesota, from simple car trips to backpacking/canoeing through the Boundary Waters. I have been attending St. Johns Episcopal Church in Royal Oak for 13 years and am currently a member of the board of directors. I have been playing guitar for 5 years and use it as a form of expression.

I was diagnosed with severe clinical anxiety and severe clinical depression in 2016. It is a constant battle I fight with myself but through it I have learned the importance of doing what makes me happy. I also have a chronic stomach problem that has pulled me from school much of 2016 and 2017.

Through all my health issues I realized my calling was to become a nurse. I plan on getting my Bachelors in Science of Nursing and then my Doctorate of Nurse Practice. I also plan of getting a certification as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner because sexual assault victims need someone comforting when the are being violated all over again.
