Emma Carlsson
SWEDEN
Born in a swedish small town, my big hobby growing up was dogs. I trained my own dogs at our local domestic dog club, where I also sat in committees and was the youth department's secretary between the ages of 11 - 13. Through my involvement there, I also was fortunate to attend to weekend courses in team work and leadership.
Being involved with dogs - training, competing in obedience, competing in dog shows - taught me early on the importance of responsibility and respecting nature, animals and teammates.
In high school I focused my studies around my other major hobbies - Film, Media and Communication.
After high school, I decided I wanted to challenge myself. I therefore moved to Santa Barbara in California, USA.
I studied at Santa Barbara City College for 3 years, with focus on Applied Communication (included courses such as Interpersonal Communication, Professional Business Communication, Small Group Communication, Mass Media Communication, Intercultural Communication and Public Speaking) and Film Studies (film history studies; included analysis writing and script writing).
Summer 2013 I moved back home to Sweden.
