Emma Cohen
Hey there! My name is Emma and I'm lucky enough to be a coach at HSC CoWorks! My home is in the regional town of Cooma, NSW, but I currently live on campus at the University of New South Wales where I study a Bachelor of Arts and Law. I graduated from Hornsby's Barker College in 2012 with an ATAR of 98.5 and as a State All-Rounder.
I currently keep myself busy as an executive member of the New College Student Association, and as secretary for the UNSW Inter-College Committee, two roles I find challenging, yet hugely rewarding.
As a person who has always had a full workload, I have come to understand that life is largely a balancing act. I also think that this motto really helped me conquer my HSC year. In Year 12, the HSC too often becomes overwhelming and all consuming. I love that here at HSC CoWorks we promote a balanced and sustainable journey up Mount HSC. We want students to create independent and diligent study regimes, but practices that also encourage students to focus on the bigger picture: their dreams and aspirations. This wider focus is so important in preventing the far too common “burning-out” in Year 12.
Working for CoWorks has really gifted me with the appreciation of the bigger picture, both for myself and for our students. I’m looking forward to meeting you so that we can conquer any challenges the HSC throws your way!
