Emma Colligan

Emma Colligan is a violinist currently based in New Zealand. There she plays for the Vector Wellington Orchestra, the Christchurch Symphony, the Southern Symphonia, and the Auckland Chamber Orchestra. She studied in the United States and received her Masters in Violin Performance with emphasis in String Pedagogy from the Longy Conservatory of Music located in Boston, Massachusetts. She studied under famed violinist and pedagogue Mark Lakirovich, and has served as his teaching associate. During her time in America, Emma played with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra in South Carolina. Emma received her Bachelors of Music with Honours from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She was the recipient of several awards, including The Aotea Performing Arts scholarship, The New Zealand Post Young Musicians Award, and a Young Performers Scholarship from The Recording Industry Association of New Zealand.
