Emma Hoyer

Hello! My name is Emma Hoyer, and I'm currently a sophomore at Millikin University in Decatur, Illinois. I am majoring in both Elementary Education and English Literature, with the hopes of becoming an educator one day. Within the next four years, I will be certified to teach K-12, with an ESL endorsement for K-8. In addition to majoring in multiple disciplines, I am a member of the Millikin women's basketball team, as well as the Millikin women's track team.

I am thankful to say that I am 2013 Golden Apple Scholar. Golden Apple is preparing me each and every day to become the best educator that I can be. I aspire to motivate and instill a love of learning within the students I encounter during my teaching career. I can rely on that fact that I have a great support team through Golden Apple and Millikin University. Those who teach me in each situation are combining efforts to prepare me for the utmost success when I finally have my first classroom. I still have a lot to learn, but the future is bright! The sun is peeking over the horizon a little more each day, and once it's sky high, I know that I will be ready to take on my role as an educator.
