Hailed for her “excellent voice and spot-on performance” (Huffington Post), her “bright sound and affecting delivery”, and for delivering a "captivating performance" (Voce di Meche), French native mezzo-soprano Emma Lavandier is a first place winner at the New Jersey NATS Festival of Singing Competition, and a finalist in the Lyra NY 2018 International Vocal Competition (Opera Division).
Highlights of past seasons include the Witch (Hansel and Gretel), Rosina (The Barber of Seville), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Orlovsky (Die Fledermaus), Nicklausse (Les contes d’Hoffmann), Orfeo (Orfeo ed Euridice), Giovanna (Rigoletto), and Prince Charmant (Cendrillon).
She has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall (Weill recital hall), Symphony Space, the Sheen Center and the Cell Theatre in New York City.
Emma was a soloist in Mozart's Requiem with NJCU Choral Productions. She recently sang in Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle (chorus and solo) with the ensemble Quadrivium in Paris. She has sung with the Chœur Vittoria Île-de-France (direction Michel Piquemal), joined the vocal ensemble Ligéia (direction Daniel Asensio) and is a current member of the Chœur Stella Maris (direction Olivier Bardot). Upcoming projects include a chamber music program with the Ensemble Pyxis.
Emma is a voice teacher, diction coach, and co-founder of DictionBuddy, the mobile application of lyric diction created by singers for singers. She was a faculty at the Hudson School (Hoboken, NJ) and at the New Jersey City University. She currently teaches voice, choir and piano in Paris.
