Emmanuel Badewa is a PhD student at the School of Environment, Resources and Sustainability, University of Waterloo. He is currently working with the Ontario-Quebec cross provincial research project aimed to determine the impact of organic amendments on soil health under a changing climate. His research focuses on the multiple aspects of biobased amendments including the effects of freeze-thaw on nitrous oxide emissions. Emmanuel has a strong background in soil science, with an emphasis on soil physics, from his Bachelor’s degree (Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria) and an MSc from Memorial University (Newfoundland) in Boreal Ecosystems and Agricultural Sciences. He worked as a soil scientist with the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Ebonyi State, Nigeria (2014-2015). His interests range from education to entrepreneurship. He is also interested in innovation, writing, and reading.
