EMMA SEGAL
Toronto
My name is Emma Segal, and I’m a graphic designer and illustrator based (mostly) out of (part of the time) Vancouver. I started out in International Relations with James Bond-ette dreams of saving the world before realizing that being a Diplomat was mostly paperwork. After a quick re-calculation, and several years of design school later, I found myself taking the trips overseas I thought I would be doing as a (cough) super spy. I spent many years in the apparel industry, searching third world countries (mostly China & India, a smattering of Thailand) high and low for beautiful printing and delicious street food, perils be damned!
Almost a decade and huge learning experience later, I left to start my own production company and work on freelance illustration, design and branding. Drawing on my past as a dancer, my current certification as a Pilates instructor, a program at Cornell in Plant Based Nutrition and my ever-present obsessions with kale, I also started a – what do the kids call it these days? a blog? on all things healthy.
I also managed to fit in my certification to captain a sailboat, volunteer work for Heifer.org (my favourite!), an AIDS fundraiser, Habitat for Humanity and a local consulting group focused on eco-friendly apparel designers.
I love being busy, so get in touch.
