I am an AHRC-funded PhD student in the music department of Goldsmiths College, University of London, studying the recent rise of the ukulele and its associated subcultural groups, particularly in relation to marginalised players. My research interests include intersectional theory, subcultures, women in music, disability studies, and creativity and empowerment. I greatly enjoy teaching undergraduates, and am currently a teaching assistant on the first year Disco Culture course at Kings College London.

I make primarily synth-based music as Deerful, and will be releasing a 7" single, Moon Maps/Hush Me, on Where It's At Is Where You Are in early 2016. I recently released the experimental EP Browser Pieces, made entirely with synthesisers running in my web browser.

I also play with Owl & Mouse, Enderby's Room, Darren Hayman, Citizen Helene, Brute Love and Papernut Cambridge, and I assist with experimental sound workshops for children as part of School of Noise.

I previously worked in tech, and retain a particular interest in the role of technology and programming in the creative arts.

During a recent free weekend I developed the hypertext game Cat Simulator 3000.
