Emmett O'Leary

Emmett O'Leary is a Faculty Associate and Ph.D. student in Music Education at Arizona State University.

At ASU he teaches the courses: Creativity and Innovation in Design and the Arts, Digital and Hybrid Music Edcuation Lab, and Introduction to Music Education. His research interests include creativity, competition in concert and marching bands, technology pedagogy, and instrumental music education.

Before ASU, Emmett served as an Assistant Band Director at the University of Notre Dame, where in addition to leading ensembles within the band program, he taught courses in conducting and instrumental techniques.

Emmett has presented research and professional development sessions at events such as the Society for Music Teacher Education Symposium, Texas Music Educators Association State Conference, Arizona Music Educators Conference, Technology Institute for Music Education (TI:ME) National Conference, and the New Directions in Music Education Conference at Michigan State University.

Emmett serves as co-host and editor of the music education podcast, Music Ed Resource (musicedresource.com).
