Soccer is a sport that has defined who I am. To everyone that knows me, I am known as the girl who plays soccer. Whenever I am introduced to someone, following my name is always “she’s really good at soccer” or “she plays at the University of Georgia”. Not only do other people know me as this but so do I. I don't know who I would be or what I would do with myself without the sport. It has completely taken over my life. From waking up at 5:45 a.m for weights to not getting home until 8:00 p.m. after practice, my days are completely dedicated to the sport. It might sound difficult but I wouldn’t want it any other way. My favorite thing about soccer is the satisfaction I get after reaching a goal I have set for myself. There is nothing better than setting a goal for yourself, working hard to reach it, and then finally accomplishing it. Soccer has made me a perfectionist. I am never satisfied with myself. I know that there is always something that I can be working on. This trait has carried into my life outside of soccer. Whether it’s grades, relationships, or my well being, I am always motivated to make them better. I am forever grateful for my opportunity to play soccer because it has taught me so many life lessons that I will carry with me my whole life.
