Howdy, my name is Nikki, the proud owner and creator of Empowered by Nikki.

I am a 27 year-old wife, mom, and police officer located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. I grew up in Arlington, Texas. I played college soccer at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas, where I graduated with my Bachelor‘s of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. After graduation, I became a police officer and I have been proudly serving my community for the last 4.5 years. My profession has given me experience in many different areas. I hold an Intermediate Peace Officer license with certifications as a Mental Health Peace Officer, Crisis Hostage Negotiator, Blue Shield Tactical Force Options Instructor, Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement and K9 Decoy.

Although my job experience has exposed me to the importance of self-defense, safety, and situational awareness. I have personal experience that is my reason for creating, Empowered by Nikki.

From 2017-2020, I was in an abusive relationship. Ive learned that abuse can be emotional, psychological, and physical. This was my life for two years. During that time, I was manipulated into believing that I was all alone and had no way out. Although this was hardest time in my life thus far, it inspired me to use my painful experience to create a community and program that I am truly proud of. If I can help one person, than everything I went through was worth it.

My life is proof that there is always a way out AND what is waiting for you on the other side is far greater. Shortly after escaping my abusive relationship, I met the love of my life. We welcomed our daughter in September 2021 and cannot wait to get married in November 2022.
