A Great Opportunity to Give back to this World!
Empowering Minds is a program that provides foster children in the Marion County area with after school tutoring, over summer tutoring and weekly group tutoring.
For your child to be eligible for Empowering Minds, they must be a youth in foster care or group home, residing in Marion County, age 6-18.
Volunteers should be reliable, patient, enthusiastic, and capable adults. Volunteers should feel a strong desire to contribute to the academic advancement of at-risk youth, and feel comfortable acting as a positive role model. Volunteers are asked to donate a minimum of one hour per week.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact me, Felisha Gray, via email at [email protected]. There is a volunteer interview process.
If you are interested in having a child be tutored please contact me, Felisha Gray, via email at [email protected] with your name, number, child's first name, age, grade and subject that assistance is needed. Please remember, this program is for children who are in foster care or a group home. Unfortunately, youth living at home or with relatives are not eligible for these tutoring resources.
