Dr. Emre OTLU MD

I am a General Practitioner at Baymer A.S.M., currently residing in Istanbul. Beyond the clinic, I am a devoted family man, happily married and a proud father to three children. A steadfast commitment to a science-based perspective forms the cornerstone of my worldview, serving as a guiding principle in both my professional endeavours and daily life.

My personal pursuits are rather eclectic, reflecting an enduring curiosity about both culture and the natural world. I hold a deep fascination for the intricacies of etymology and am an avid reader of Russian literature, continually captivated by its profound psychological depth. At home, I take great pleasure in exploring global gastronomy, frequently preparing dishes from diverse world cuisines. This culinary enthusiasm is perfectly complemented by my dedication to the precise art and science of coffee brewing, with a particular penchant for crafting the perfect espresso.

My appreciation for nature is perhaps most evident in my careful cultivation and curation of rare cacti and other unusual botanical specimens. Alongside my horticultural interests, I am a keen birdwatcher—a pastime that naturally aligns with my deep engagement in aviculture. In this latter field, I currently have the honour of serving on the executive committee of the Istanbul Border Club.
