Why Blog?!

Well... I have always loved food, but over the last 6 months my love has slowly evolved from making easy fall back recipes to experimenting with all kinds of things. Whilst many of my friends complain about cooking after a long day at work, the cooking part doesn't bother me because of the delicious rewards that come after it!
So, after cooking for a number of friends and sharing some recipes that all went down a treat I decided it would be fun to create a place to store all of the things that I have learnt. This is as much for me (sometimes it's hard to remember exactly what I did when it was a random experiment a few weeks ago!), as it is for other people that may be interested.

Many of my recipes are gluten free and sugar free. Although these words are pretty big 'it' words in food right now, this isn't the reason. I started eating less carbs about 2 years ago and subsequently eliminated carbs (and hence most gluten) from my every day dinners. I also don't cook with meat or chicken so my dinners revolve around vegetables and sometimes seafood. I LOVE vegetables and it's so wonderful to know that you're eating fresh, nutrient rich meals that are good for your body!
And, the no sugar thing, well, it's fun to see what you can create using less conventional recipes and just how delicious it can still taste! I've also found that many of my no sugar recipes are much more satisfying than traditional recipes. With a batch of chocolate chip cookies lying in the kitchen I can continue eating them until they're finished, but with my date, almond and lemon cookies lying in the kitchen, I really am satisfied after 1 or 2 don't feel that craving to eat more!

Hopefully some of my recipes hit it off for you in the way that they have for me - enjoy!
