My brother is my best friend. He is only 21 months older than me, so we have gone through life in the same stages and grown side by side. He is my biggest role model, confidant, and the first person I go to for advice. When we were little, I reached milestones only because he had already done them, and I wanted nothing more than to be just like him. I forced my first tooth out a month after his fell out, and I started reading when I was three because that was when he learned. It is difficult to explain to anyone without an older sibling, but he is simultaneously everything I want to be, and the most annoying person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The three months when our ages are only one apart is my favorite time of the year because, as we have gotten older, the gap has gotten smaller. The difference between a newborn and a 1-year-old is so different than that of a 20 and 21-year-old. As the years have gone by, we have gotten even closer. Having a brother, specifically my brother, is the biggest blessing in my life, and I would not be me without him.
