Michael has taught in Britain, Spain, Bolivia and Colombia and has done teacher training throughout Europe and South America. He has written articles and methodology books on topics like syllabus design, assessment, learner development, culture and oral skills; he is also co-author of various ELT coursebooks such as Choices (2012). Michael lives in El Escorial in the Guadarrama Mountains in Spain. For the last eleven years he has been involved in the environmental group, Entorno Escorial, and in other local initiatives such as the Escorial Time Bank, the social centre, Casa Abierta, and 15M Escorial.
