Chris Dawson

From Cheshire, the traditional region of the famous Cheshire archers of the early medieval period, Chris Dawson has over 25 years experience in medieval and competition archery with self yew english longbows (already in 1986 having shot at Agincourt at one of the first assembly of archers on the site in our era). An early member of the EWBS (English Warbow Society) the only society dedicated to the research and use of precise reproductions of the medieval english longbow/warbow.

A pioneer English longbow/warbow archer in France and president of the French WarBow society, providing professional demonstrations at various medieval and cultural events, including shooting at steel plate for the purpose of demonstrating armour piercing with bows of well over 100lb draw weight, using exact reproductions of English/Welsh self yew medieval Longbows and 1/2 inch diameter arrows with hand forged and hardened armour piercing arrow heads. Professional experience with 20thC fox films, BBC, etc.
