My name is Ennie Van Wyk, a third-year Bachelor of Education (BEd) student at the University of Johannesburg, majoring in Life Sciences and Geography for both the Senior and FET Phases. I am deeply passionate about education, learner development, and making complex content accessible and engaging for all learners.

In 2022, I worked as an Academic Tutor for Geography and Life Sciences at LEAP Science and Maths Schools, where I facilitated weekly online sessions for Grade 10 and 11 learners. I focused on simplifying challenging concepts such as genetics, photosynthesis, weather and climate, and biomes using interactive tools like visual aids, simulations, and peer-teaching techniques.

Through my tutoring, I supported over 20 learners in improving their academic performance by 15 to 30 percent within one academic year. I also created CAPS-aligned study guides and worksheets that are now used across three LEAP branches. I maintained a 100% attendance rate by fostering a supportive and motivating learning environment.

My skill set includes strong time management, teamwork, and learner-centered instructional design. I believe in collaboration and often worked closely with program coordinators, teachers, and fellow tutors to ensure alignment with the school curriculum.

As a future educator, I aim to create inclusive classrooms where learners are inspired to reach their full potential, academically and beyond.
