Errol L Pierre

Errol Pierre is known for his passion for Health Policy and Politics. He currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Product Management at Healthfirst, the largest Mediciad and Medicare health plan in the New York City metropolitan area with more than 700,000 members. Errol leads all new product launches including strategy and planning for the upcoming Health Exchanges.

Prior to Healthfirst, Errol started his career in Healthcare 10 years ago as an intern at Empire BlueCross BlueShield, the largest health insurance company in New York. In 2006, Empire was aquired by WellPoint, the largest health insurance company in the United States. This allowed Errol to hold various leadership positions such as Product Development Consultant, Regional Manager of Small Business Sales and Account Management, Director of Strategic Planning, and Chief of Staff to the CEO.

A resident of Bronx, New York, Errol graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Finance. He also ran for the school as a member of the Fordham Men's Division 1 Track & Field team. In the spring of 2013 he will complete a Masters of Public Administration degree in Health Policy and Financial Management from New York University where he is a teacher's assistant and a frequent contributor to their NYU Health Policy Blog.

In his spare time Errol volunteers for many different non-profit organizations. He servers as a Board of Director for One Hundred Black Men, Inc. and the West Side YMCA. He also sits on the Young Professional Advisory Committee for ABNY (Association for a Better NY). Lastly, he serves as a mentor to two students from Eagle Academy for Young Men located in the South Bronx.
