Eric A. Combs, M.S.Ed., M.Ed.
2006 Ohio Teacher of the Year
Eric Combs is retired from the United States Air Force. During his 20 year career, Sergeant Combs served as Security Forces Superintendent and special tactics instructor. He has been stationed in South Korea, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Wyoming and England and has been on numerous deployments in the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. He was the 1992 Non-commissioned Officer of the Year for USAF in Europe and served as a tactical evaluator and trainer with the British Special Air Service.
Upon retiring, he instructed Air Force Junior ROTC and attended the University of Dayton with the Troops to Teachers program for his Adolescent to Young Adult 7-12 Social Studies License. He has taught World History, Economics, Ancient History and government and was on a school within a school program for at-risk 9th graders. He is also an Adjunct Faulty member for Wright State University and Antioch University McGregor.
Mr. Combs has been honored in Who's Who Among American Teacher's for four years and is an active outdoor instructor for high ropes, climbing, rappelling and survival for several organizations. He holds 3 associate degrees, a Bachelors in Forensic Anthropology, and Masters degrees in Education from the University of Dayton and a Masters in Educational Leadership from Antioch University McGregor. Eric was selected at the 2006 Ohio Teacher of the Year and is an active member of the National State Teachers of the Year organization.
He is currently an education consultant with the Center for Teacher Effectiveness where he presents courses throughout the U.S. and Canada on Classroom Management, Differentiated Instruction and School Safety/Security.
