I am currently a journalism student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill who covers state and national politics for its paper, the Daily Tar Heel. My work has mainly focused on the impact of partisan politics on higher education and healthcare policy in North Carolina. I have also covered state elections, the effects of sequestration on universities, and have interviewed figures like columnist Reihan Salam and former Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman.

Alongside my writing experience, I interned in both the governing and campaign sides of politics, before realizing I preferred holding politicians accountable to spouting off talking points.

In addition to English and Spanish, I am currently learning Arabic.
