Erica Motloutsi
Student, Volunteer, and Web Developer in Midrand, Gauteng
Greetings! My name is Erica, and I am a passionate, curious, and growth-driven learner with a strong interest in business, technology, and entrepreneurship. I am based in Midrand, Gauteng, and I enjoy exploring a wide range of fields rather than limiting myself to one direction.
My academic and career interests span across economics, business management, and information technology. Within business management, I am especially drawn to project management, which is a field I intend to continue developing and potentially major in. I am also building strong interest in AI and digital technologies as part of my growing IT journey.
Although I had to pause my BCom in Business Management and Economics due to financial constraints, I have remained committed to learning and development. I am currently completing a learnership with Velisa Africa Academy, where I am gaining hands-on experience in AI automation, cloud administration, Python programming, project management, machine learning models, chatbot development, workflow automation, and AI-driven solutions. This experience is strengthening both my technical and problem-solving skills while exposing me to real-world applications of technology in business.
Alongside my learning journey, I run a small achaar business, which has given me practical experience in entrepreneurship, customer service, operations, and working with people. I have also gained broader experience in office environments and hands-on roles, which has helped me develop strong communication skills, adaptability, and a good understanding of working in different professional settings.
This combination of business, IT, and real-world experience has shaped me into a flexible and open-minded individual who enjoys learning continuously, solving problems, and applying knowledge in practical ways. I am especially interested in where business and technology intersect, and I aim to use my skills to create opportunities, contribute to economic growth, and help address challenges such as poverty and inequality.
