Eric Biretta
Attorney Eric Biretta established his private practice, Biretta and Associates, P.C., in 1992, after spending six years as a staff attorney at Bufalino and Palazzolo, P.C. In addition to his work at Biretta and Associates, Mr. Biretta remained at Bufalino and Palazzolo until 2006, providing counsel for criminal and civil cases at both the federal and state levels.
Today, Eric Biretta focuses his practice on criminal law and family law, including divorce, custody and visitation issues, as well as child and spousal support. The attorneys at Biretta and Associates, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, also offer legal representation in matters such as personal injury, probate and estate planning, business law, and bankruptcy. An accomplished attorney with a commanding court presence, Mr. Biretta has won four of his last five jury trials, including three criminal trials, and one civil defense matter that resulted in a no-cause verdict. From 2008 to 2010, Eric Biretta handled a complex paternity, custody, and step-parent adoption case, Juncaj v. Helmlinger. Mr. Biretta prevailed throughout the evidentiary hearing, the trial, and the subsequent appeal.
Mr. Biretta earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communications, with a Minor in General Business, from Western Michigan University in 1980, and his Juris Doctor from the Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University in 1985.
Eric Biretta is a member of the Italian American Chamber of Commerce of Michigan, the Macomb County Bar Association, and the State Bar of Michigan. He is also active in his church, and supports the American Cancer Society, Inc. and the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Biretta enjoys boating and golfing in his free time.
