I grew up in South Florida and graduated from Western High School in Davie, FL in 1983. I hold a B.A. in Psychology from Pfeiffer.edu that I received in 1988. After graduating I became involved in understanding the nature of data and its collection. Being predisposed to maps and legends I worked to improve the 1990 Census for the Department of Commerce. After learning a bit about digital cartography I worked on cadastral maps of 5 Counties in Eastern NC for Westinghouse Landmark GIS. The office I worked in closed in the early 1990's so I assisted one of our last clients with their digital conversion and reconciliation with their tax records for Real Property. I then moved to Monroe, NC to work full time for their Tax Assessor. They needed assistance wrapping up a 13 year long in-house digital mapping of their County's tax scroll. I then moved to Charlotte NC to do similar work as a contractor for various staffing companies providing similar digitizing efforts for the Mecklenburg County Tax Administration. After about a year I was hired as a contractor and later a full time Mecklenburg County employee in IT doing GIS programming and analysis. As more of this data was being pushed online I developed skills in web development and took over the County's intranet and some functions of administration of the CharMeck.org enterprise internet. CharMeck.org receives upwards of 1.4 million page views of the County's site collection. MeckWeb the County intranet, serves to inform over 4,000 employees.
AND THEN, I moved to New York City and went to work for Whole Foods Market. I started as a cashier, and then transitioned into Delivery. After playing many rock-n-roll shows in my Indie Rock band (with my lovely wife, Maria) we decided to opt for a more relaxed scene. I am now embarking on a move to New Orleans to work for Whole Foods in the Prepared Foods department. Cooking has always been an integral part of my life. Dream the dream.
