A respected leader in the maritime industry, Eric Dawicki brings more than three decades of global experience to his role as the President and Founder of Northeast Maritime Institute in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, the nation’s first private maritime college in the United States. Among many responsibilities, Eric Dawicki leads and guides all development activities, policies and practices, daily and strategic operations for the college, while also overseeing a team of professional maritime instructors and managing the college’s security division.
In addition to his work with Northeast Maritime Institute, Eric Dawicki serves as co-founder of the Dominica Martime Registry. In this role, he leads a network of more than 20 regional offices while heading all infrastructure and quality standards operations. He also developed a range of International Maritime Act and Regulations and ISPS Code compliance programs for a range of shipping companies and ports.
Eric Dawicki gained early experience in the maritime industry as a member of the United States Merchant Marine and went on to receive a Master's degree in Public Administration at American University in Washington, D.C. Prior to his current roles, he has held a number of leadership positions within organizations in the maritime industry, including serving as co-founder of the Center for Maritime Leadership and the Director of American Maritime Shipping.
