I travel as part of my job and a personal pleasure. Going places has helped me learn so much more than I ever could in a book or in a classroom.
It isn't enough to just see a place, you have to experience it. There is no better way to do that than to eat the place's food. A meal with a local is worth a thousand travel guides.
It is also my job and a personal pleasure to help people solve problems. Sometimes its answering questions with data, other times its going to the shop floor and observing directly but mostly its about learning from others and sharing. It is all part of articulating problems, making them viaible and helping others.
