Eric Donnenfeld

Eric Donnenfeld occupies numerous professional roles. A leading ophthalmologist and eye surgeon, Eric Donnenfeld provides exceptional corneal, cataract, and refractive surgery options through a variety of facilities on the East Coast. He currently presides as a Partner with the Ophthalmic Consultants of both Long Island and Connecticut. Concurrently, he practices with TLC Laser Eye Centers in New York and Connecticut as well as with New York's Island Eye Surgicenter. An expert in the realm of LASIK eye surgery, he has completed tens of thousands of laser vision correction surgeries to date.

Eric Donnenfeld maintains an array of ongoing activities. In addition to his work as a surgeon, he serves as clinical professor of ophthalmology at NYU and functions as trustee with the Dartmouth Medical School. He also presides as National Medical Director of TLC Laser Eye Centers and operates as Surgical Director of the Lions Eye Bank for Long Island. Additionally, he sits on the executive board of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He will be president of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery starting in April 2013 for a one-year term. Widely sought after as an author and researcher, Dr. Donnenfeld also functions as Chief Editor of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Today.

Eric Donnenfeld possesses an MD from Dartmouth Medical School, graduating first in his class from the New Hampshire school in 1980. Prior to this, he completed a BA from Dartmouth College, finishing his undergraduate work magna cum laude. Following Dartmouth, he completed an internship with the Newton-Wellesley Hospital, located in Massachusetts. He then proceeded to participate in a residency at the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital, where he also served as Chief Resident. Additionally, he completed a cornea fellowship through the Willis Eye Hospital. Eric Donnenfeld possesses an array of honors and commendations that include the American Academy of Ophthalmology's Honor Award, Senior Honor Award, and Secretariat Award.
