Eric Inspektor
Co-Founder in Toronto, Canada
Eric Inspektor is the Co-Founder and senior underwriter of Toronto-based merchant bank CORFinancial Corp.,which specializes in creative financial structures for mid-sized companies with revenues between $25 million and $150 million. He has spent over 30 years advising on and structuring non-conforming or asset-based loans with the prime focus on ensuring that viable companies flourish.
Born in South Africa, Eric earned his entrepreneurial start by operating and expanding his family’s wholesale/retail liquor business until he emigrated to Canada in 1985.
In 1988, Eric Inspektor founded his first business in Canada and established a unique structure where 3 banks provided direct financing to fund its transactions. At the peak, these facilities aggregated in excess of $50 million. All transactions funded through this structure were successful with zero losses or defaults. Through his expertise, Eric also established a direct lending facility of $6 million with BMO to fund mortgage transactions.
For over 24 years, Eric has funded and re-structured numerous transactions including larger re-financings and has invested in a number of turnaround opportunities, all ofwhich were successfully sold as going concerns.
With an eye for recognizing a deal,Eric says he has experienced success because he not only understands what the businessman wants, but also what the lender is looking for.
Outside of running his business, Eric Inspektor is heavily involved with community organizations such as the Jewish National Fund, where he chaired the “Restorer of Jerusalem” project and he and his family funded the building of a park for handicapped children in Israel, and the Starlight Children’s Foundation, where he organized a golf tournament called “Friends of Starlight” which raised over $150 thousand over a 3 year period.
Eric enjoys spending time with his children and 4 grandchildren, traveling and being outdoors.
