Eric J Meyer

Personal Summary

I grew up in Batavia, OH, where I graduated from Batavia High School in 1998. While in high school I was a drummer in the marching band, jazz band, orchestra, pep band and concert band. I also played basketball and ran track (Lettered) in my freshman year of high school. In my senior year I was part of the year book committee, National Honor Society, and Academic Quiz Team (received Most Improved Player). After graduation I started college at Bowling Green State University in 1998. While at BGSU I was a founding father of the BGSU chapter of Delta Chi Fraternity. While in the fraternity I held the position of treasurer and social chair. Also while at BGSU I was one of four in our fraternity to participate in the campus wide Dance Marathon, where we raised over $217,000 for the Children's Miracle Foundation.

After my first year at BGSU I transferred back to University of Cincinnati Clermont. While at UC I was elected as the president of the Student Tribunal, as well as the liaison to the main campus student government. During my second year at UC Clermont, I was working at Blockbuster video as an Assistant Manager, at the district training store where I was designated as the primary training manager. In 2000 I graduated from UC Clermont with an associates degree in Business Administration. That summer I moved to Columbus to attend OSU in the fall, however because of my strong management skills at Blockbuster I was promoted and moved back to the Cincinnati area where I became the Store Manager of the Mason Blockbuster near Kings Island.

I continued to work for Blockbuster until December of 2003, when I left for US Air Force Basic Training. After completing basic training I was sent to Wichita Falls, TX for Tech School to learn my AFSC, which was Maintenance Production Planner where I graduated as Distinguished Graduate (Top in my class). From TX, I was stationed at Travis AFB in Fairfield, CA. While stationed here I was the recipient of numerous awards for leadership and performance. I also volunteered as our squadron tax rep. to help fellow airmen and their families file there federal and CA state taxes. Also while in CA I met my wife, Jenna. In 2005 we were relocated to Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage AK. After only being in AK for 2 months I was deployed to Ali Al Saleem, Kuwait for a four-month deployment.
