Mr. Eric Kipling currently teaches 8th grade US History and Tech Ed (robotics & architecture).

He grew up in Kendallville, Indiana where he went to East Noble High School (The Fighting Knights!). He was active in many activities and sports throughout middle and high school (tried for student council...lost election, band...then settled on air drums and guitar, basketball, tennis, baseball, tried track...too slow!).

After high school he attended Central Michigan University where he studied Education (History, Language Arts, and Math) and pitched for the baseball team. Mr. Kipling has since received his Masters in Educational Leadership from Grand Valley State University (May 2005).

After college, he received his first teaching position in Spring Lake, Michigan as a 6th grade teacher. He taught 6th grade for 3 years before moving to the middle school. In the middle school Mr. Kipling has taught Math, English, Business Math, Social Studies, Tech Ed and Woodworking.

Mr. Kipling's favorites include:

Sports: baseball, chasing after his 3 kids, college basketball (Indiana Hoosiers!), Spring Lake extracurricular events.

Books: Any book about justice, adventure, real history, or baseball.

Movies: Crash, Any Adam Sandler movie, Saving Private Ryan, Tommy Boy, Dumb & Dumber, Stranger Than Fiction, The Polar Express, Love Actually, Step Brothers, Pixar animated movies.

Food: Cookies, pizza, ice cream, breakfast.

Music: Dave Matthews Band (6X), Coldplay (3X), O.A.R. (3X), U2, Johnny Cash, Mumford & Sons (Summer 2013).

Mr. Kipling's favorite activity is hanging out with his 3 kids Annie, Maddux and Chas. Mr. Kipling is married to Mrs. Betsy Kipling, a STEM teacher at Jeffers Elementary School in Spring Lake.

To be successful in Mr. Kipling's classes, you must be respectful, courteous, willing to strive to be your best person, and friendly. If you can do those things, you will have a great experience with Mr. K and in life in general.
