Eric Becker

I'm 33 years old and I've learned, basically, that you never stop learning. A.A. in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Citrus College. B.A. in Sociology from U.C. Irvine (2007) and now an MBA from the University of Redlands (June 2014). My interests are Major League Baseball (especially the Los Angeles Dodgers,) improved business practices, and the always-futile pursuit of becoming a rock star. I have an eclectic taste in music, an uncanny understanding of people, and a love for all things food. I have Bipolar Disorder, but I certainly do not "suffer" from it. In fact, I live a full life, have two young children who I adore, great friends, access to tremendous mentors, and I've been blessed to have the ability to speak up not only for myself but for others with my condition.

Heroes: My father (the ultimate voice of reason,) Kirk Gibson (strength to get through anything, grace under fire,) Barack Obama (like him or hate him, it takes guts to be the first anything, especially the first black President,) Franklin D. and Eleanor Roosevelt (political power couple, maybe not the best marriage but they championed many of the causes that helped make this country great after WWII,) Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (a great equalizer in his own right who was not afraid to stand up on his own principles,) Abraham Lincoln (who was not afraid to not sacrifice principle in the face of an incredible challenge and without whom many men would have never been free to live the American dream,) and Steve Jobs (because despite his numerous personality flaws, he dared to not only change the world, but create new ways of exploring it.)

Likes: Baseball, sports in general, good food of any type, The Habit Burger Grill, taking the opportunity to learn something new, mental health advocacy, social justice.

Dislikes: Corruption in the legal system, People who preach Ayn Rand but don't really understand what she stood for or how/why her beliefs were formed, the Tea Party, stupidity in general, tYpiiNG LiiKe tHiiS.
